replacing awning lights

Has anyone replaced the factory awning lights with multicolor LED lighting for a 2015 Jayco 28BHBE?

Welcome to the JOF.

No, I haven't replaced them. But the awning lights on our 2015 27RLS are too bright for most occasions. I'll probably add a dimmer for them at some point.

I agree, I usually don't use them, It is so bright I feel like we are in a supermarket. We are trying to replace them with a Multicolor/remote LED light, but the kits I have seen so far seem like they are for awnings that did not come with factory lighting.

I assume it dims the lights Jayco installs. If that's right, it would be appreciated if you could provide more info on what piece you bought. And maybe how easy it was to install it. Thanks.

I purchased this little devil to control the awning light. Works very well and easy to install. I hooked it into the wiring after it comes out of the wall in the front awning arm. The remote can "see" it 12V RF Wireless Remote Switch Controller Dimmer FOR Mini LED Strip Light NEW EA | eBay.

Interesting, as our installed lights do not seem bright enough. I was thinking about replacing them for that reason.

I installed this as well and works good, it dims and turns the awning led lights on/off but it does flicker sometimes. At very low dimming and when other lights are on in my trailer the awning lights will flicker really fast until I turn something on/off or turn them up brighter. I had to dim them as there are too bright they light up my whole camp site and the neighbors at times. Hard to enjoy the outdoors with that much light. But that part off LED for the price and easy to install, was worth it there are many threads on this part and this mod.

How and where did y'all install the controller? It looks pretty straight forward (black and red wire), but where did you put it for best results? Where are the wires on your trailer run? Just bought a new 29 bhds, but don't have it home yet to trace the wiring.
