Replacing the foam in dinette seats

When I sit on my dinette seats my butt touches the wood underneath. Basically the ones that come with it suck.

From using the search function, the consensus seems to be to replace it with a bottom layer of firm foam and then a smaller layer of memory foam on top.

My issue is what a proper ration would be for a 4” cushion. I was thinking 3” of firm and 1” of memory but it seems like there isn’t very good 1” memory.

Would 2” of each work out or would I easily bottom out?

I see quality 1 1/2 memory foam but then don’t see 2 1/2” firm foam to match.

What ratio have others used for a 4” dinette cushion?

Haven't contacted them personally yet, but do want their professional opinion on what to replace our bottom cushion foam with. I believe some folks here have bought from them. One of many that offer products on the internet.

I found a local foam and upholstery shop. They cut the foam and put on the fabric for about $60 a side. Best purchase ever. Our fabric was in excellent condition so it made sense to just replace the foam.

RecPro has dinnette cushions that are the all new option.

The ones I have are the vinyl(?) where they have a zipper and the foam block is inside so I wasn’t really thinking of an upholsterer but that makes sense for fabric.

Since you are showing Boston find a local marine cushion and bimini top outlet and get them to replace the foam with some of their quality foam. There are several grades, but the quality and firmness is way above the foam that is sold at most residential furniture outlets. You don't need a two piece set up.

In two of the units that I have purchased, the four inch seat cushions did not have a full four inch of foam. So the seats were always wrinkled up. With the new true four inch one piece, they stay tight for the most part.

Most outlets will put the foam in a bag and use a vacumn to suck the foam down and then install it in the covers. Then let the suction off and it expands tight as they push the foam to the seams correctly.
