Road Side Assistance?? Good Sam or RV Explorer Club

From a Canadian point of view who has used these, and who would you recommend???

Rv Explorer Club is $45 a year. (I do get a small discount on RV insurance if I choose them)

Good Sams is $80. a year.

Coach-Net $109-129 a tear.

Any others I might be missing??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! We're doing our first extended trip this Summer to New England and would like something in place.

Thanks!

Don't waste your $$$ on explorer club... been there done that... So far I have been happy with good sam but they are going down hill... I still think they are above average in service.

We don't use any of them. Our same company that insures our house, shop, cars, trucks also insure our trailer. They will tow the trailer if something goes wrong with it or the truck. So check with your car insurance company.

I have been a Good Sam user for years. It costs me more than $80.

I signed up for Good Sam but this is the first year. As Norty implied, the price goes up after the first year so be aware of that. We haven't had to use the roadside assistance yet but I've heard a couple of horror stories from others on how expensive a tow can get without some type of roadside assistance.

We have the Explorer RV Club.
Keep in mind the $45 only gives you camping discounts. The roadside assistance which includes unlimited towing is $125 for two vehicles and one trailer. We compared with CAA, and found CAA to have max towing distance of 250 km and the cost was over $200. Good Sam just turned me off with their rising renewal rates and tons of junk mail. I would say though, Good Sam would be a close second choice for me. Their un-discounted price is nearly identical to Explorer RV Club.

I vote Good Sam.

On junk mail, I kept calling and complaining. Took about 6-9 months but junk mail eventually went away.

That's a steal. Looking at the AAA Arizona (where I live) website the AAA Plus RV is $165 for the primary member plus $50 for each additional member. And, they only tow 100 miles.

Since I purchased my 2012 Jayco this past December don't I get some sort of coverage from Jayco for a year or two or should I still have Good Sam or something?

You get a year of COACHNET for the camper only. If you want a full road service policy, you need to contact Coachnet and get everything else covered. Then you could drop the others.

So how does Coachnet compare to Good Sam for family vehicle and trailer coverage?

I had already renewed my GRS so I did not pursue it. I have heard from others that they are comparable in price and service.

Allstate Motor Club - RV Roadhelp Plan.

Covers the RV, all vehicles, and even the boat trailer, for under $100.

I was a AAA member for ten years, but Allstate won my business this year.
AAA was asking WAY too much money.
