I have Good Sam's. I had a double blow out on the driver's side. One tire blew and the tread broke the metal valve stem on the same side. Called Good Sam and they had a repair truck with two Goodyear Endurance tires there in a little over an hour. The tech changed the tires and I was on my way in about another hour and a half. Satisfied with Good Sam response and communications. Keep in mind Good Sam is not insurance, it is a roadside service. You pay for the repairs. My repair cost $700 total. By the way, the tire that blew was a made in china three and one half year old Goodyear. The Hawk TPMS sat there telling me all tires were good with two flats.

As far as I can tell, it looks like they provide decent service on Auto breakdowns. Thanks for all your help on this matter.
As a prior insurance agency owner for thirty years (recently retired) i strongly suggest checking into Progressive insurance. Their roadside assistance is very good. Yes, you do have to have a policy, but their rv insurance is the best. In most cases adding your rv to your car insurance policy is like having a plumber do your electrical job. I had customers who had Good Sam, AAA and others and would relate their. Roadside asst horror stories. I never received anything but appreciation from the customers when they needed service from Progressive. PS: if you do purchase an rv policy from Prpgressive do it with a local agent instead of directly through the company, this always gives you an additional point of contact.

GS roadside assist

We had GS. When we had a problem with the RV tire (twice on the trip so spare was flat) they wanted to send out a repair company. I told the repair person the issue was a leaky valve in both cases. The "recommended" repair shop solution was to replace both tires at a cost of over $600.00 and they would not install the spare on the RV.

I ended up parking the RV trailer and taking both tires 17 miles into Flagstaff where Discount Tire replaced both stems for free.
Changed to AAA after but haven't had to use them for the trailer. (Knock on wood....)

I had a customer that had a Progressive policy with me and also had Good Sam roadside assistance. A few miles outside of las vegas they had a tire blow. It took out part of the siding, kitchen floor and left wires dangling. Good sam told them all they would do is put their spare tire on and then the customer would have to drive (pull) the trailer to a repair shop. Customer called me crying not knowing what to do. I put them in touch with Progressive who sent out a large tow truck who took the trailer to a secure facility, then towed it again to a rv repair shop. In addition they paid to put the customer up in a hotel for a week, reimbursed their meal cost and even paid for all the food that was in the rv fridge. These are the kind of benefits not available when you add the rv to your car insurance policy. Above and beyond customer service.

I had the same experience with AAA although they actually told me they could have an RV tech out to change the tire and they said I could schedule it ahead of time, so I did. It was a BIG fiasco and at the end of the day, they couldn't find a tech who could change a tire on a motorohome - even after 2 days and lots of aggravating phone calls.

AND - before somebody makes a mean comment about changing the tire myself - I'm a 5'1" woman, weighing about 125 lbs. I can't even pick the tire up, lol.

Smile roadside assistance

I bought a policy from Good Sam. HOWEVER, I have Progressive and they had a really cheap roadside rate but used only one company to do all their calls.....a company I have never heard of???
