Roadside protection

So I just had to use my roadside insurance to fix a flat. I have good Sam platinum with the wheel and tire protection. I had to pay up front to even get anyone dispatched then file a claim afterwards. Is this normal or are there better plans out there that are easier to use? Thanks in advance!

We have Coach-Net on the Greyhawk. Our only use (so far) was a flat on I-95. We paid nothing and the tire truck was there in less than an hour.

I had to use mine, it is through my automobile insurance. It was for a ride on a roll back after a wheel bearing blew. I paid up front but right after getting home got a full reimbursement.

X2, I have not used mine. Parents have the same insurance company. They had to put their tv, on the roll back. TT hooked to the lift bar mechanism. Towed them 98 mlies home. Dropped the TT off in the yard, and the TV at the shop. Paid the fee, got reimbursed by the insurance co.
