Running the Fridge 24/7

In summer my fridge takes forever to cool down. I usually keep the AC fan on all the time by connected it to my home outlet. I was wondering if I could keep the fridge on (none stop) when RV is not in use which will keep it cool for next trip.

Does this harm the lifespan of the fridge?

What RV do you have, what type of refrigerator do you have, what outside ambient temperatures are there when you're trying to get your refer to cool down?

We leave ours running all summer long. I do get a lot of ice build up in the freezer section so I just have to de-frost a few times a season. Dometic 3 way fridge on electric power.

I keep several gallon jugs of ice in my home freezer and place them inside the fridge when cooling down before camping.

I personally wouldn't run it in those temperatures all summer if I wasn't using it.

If you are on shore power, just fire it up 3-4 days prior to the trip. I see no sense in running it the entire time.
