RV ad/brochure camp sites

Just curious, has anyone ever experienced a trailer or RV camp site like the ones you see in RV sales ads and brochures? I've never seen one in real life, and the few RV parks, campgrounds, and dispersed camping areas I've been to thus far of course fall way short of what one sees in the ads. Do any such places actually exist? I'm guessing they're as rare and elusive as actual Bigfoot sightings.

Any one advertising wants their pictures to make your mouth water! Motels, CG's resorts, etc.

That's one reason I like to hear real person reviews and look on sites like campgroundreviews.com for new locations.

Have you ever looked at pictures for a house that was listed for sale in your town? They don't even look like the same house inside. The ones that say" room for an RV" are usually a joke.

Most of the "sites" in the ads and brochures are staged, in that they get a permit for a commercial photo shoot in a beautiful place where the closest campground is 50 miles away.

Yes, on many many occasions! And when we sold our previous house a couple years ago the professional pics made me question if that was our house. 🙂

Not surprised, probably on private land in many cases. Prolly would cost a grand to camp there one night.

Yes. You have to ask for the "one in the brochure"

In all seriousness images are always staged to look their best and real life never looks that same. That being said I do extensive research prior to picking a site or CG.

Been in many that look as nice, but not necessarily new. And then again been in a few that were definitely taken 20 yrs before we arrived.

I bet you even asked yourself " why am I moving from this beautiful place", it's just what in looking for".

Yup, just like at Burger King, ask for a Whopper that looks like the one on the menu!

Me too re the research. On recent trip was amazed at how unimpressive, ok - disappointing, a $125/nt camp site could be. 😜

Just like a postcard...

You obviously haven't been camping in Northern Ontario!

Around here there are plenty of camp sites worthy of an RV brochure.

Here are some pics from when we had our first camper years back (19.5ft 1997 Triple E Topaz)... we did a lot of boon docking and we stayed in the most beautiful spots imaginable!

Here are a few pics... all taken in Northwestern Ontario, Canada

Yes, many times.

An example is the Ambassador RV resort in Boise. Army Campground at Ft Jackson (Weston Lake). Hacienda RV Park, Las Cruces, NM. KOA in Pendleton, OR. Riverside RVin Sievervile, TN. Just to name a few.

Many which are not typically are older. The pictures were done years ago and maintenance of the park was not kept up. Many KOA's are like that.

Then, like others said, the pictures are from very specific angles so you don't see the trashy parts of the park.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. In a couple weeks, we'll be setting up camp in this spot in Colorado. I think it's pretty close to perfect.

Definitely not bad! I'm not too far from there, will have to try for a reservation there next summer. Thanks.

No. Just curious as to how prevalent iconic camp sites are out there, in places regular folks could actually have a chance at.
