Rv gps

Has anyone found and used a good GPS device for a motorhome? I currently have a Garmin but I’m tired of ending up in a location that I cannot go any further because of size limitations. Last time out I had to back up and reroute due to not being able to cross over a narrow bridge.

Was this a Garmin RV GPS?

Garmin RV 770 LMT - wifi updates and a great GPS got me through RT70 detours in both St Louis and KC with no issues at all.

The Garmin Base Camp 2D trip planner software has an RV selection for the type of vehicle. It let's you customize the speeds and avoidences for the RV selection. When you up load the trip and then use it it keeps better arrival times than the default settings if you decide to tow at 60 instead of 70 for your trip.

I use the Garmin RV 770 as well. Recently completed an 800 mile trip to Middlebury, IN that included Interstates, US Highways and State Routes with no issues at all. In fact I had more problems with my TPMS system in the mountains than I did with the GPS. We are going back to pick up the coach and will bring it back home next week using a different route. The different route is not because of. the GPS but rather because we want to stop and visit our youngest grand daughter on our way back home.

The Rand McNally RV GPS I had before the Garmin sucked. It constantly tried taking on routes where I knew I was over weight for a bridge or down narrow alleyways. It did not want to allow me to go down a road to a campground when there was a weight restriction 25 miles after my turn off. I sold that GPS unit to an independent trucker that was happy to get one cheap.
