I don't know exactly how your TT model is framed, but the entrance door is usually framed fairly substantially. If the existing hand grip is next to the side of the door opening, it is secured into the frame behind the TT skin. My DW was having issues with her knees climbing into our 2014 - 287BHBE, so I added a handrail to help her get in and out. My recommendation is to drill pilot holes and silicon the holes just before you run the screws in. The screws are substantial enough to give adequate support for anyone hanging onto the rail lifting their body weight in ascent or descent. DW's sister had a misstep exiting their TT and she ended up with a concussion when the concrete patio pad stopped her fall. I convinced her husband to spend the $35 and add a handrail to their TT ... once you're in your 70's, you just don't bounce like you used to!
