RV in snow...?

Hello,

Last weekend I went for skiing to South Lake Tahoe, Ca. I saw probably around 10 RVs driving through the town. Are those people just driving through going somewhere else or they are staying in the trailers/RV in the temps 10-30F in the night?

thanks

You can use an RV well into sub-sub-freezing temps. Just keep the the water system winterized.

Or they could have a 'glacier package' and the RV is good to fairly low temps.

If you are traveling in snow and icy conditions this is a great traction device that is approved in all 50 states. Sizing – AutoSock they only weight about 4 lbs and are very easy to take on and off compared to snow chains.

I was about to start a new thread, but I'll ask it hear. We are planning our first potential cold trip by going to Ruidosa, NM in March. We have dipped below freezing a couple of times, but this could be colder.

We have a 2014 BHBE with the enclosed underbelly. I am probably going to pick up a heated water hose. I've read that it's better to use the furnice instead of only an electric heater to get some heat in the underbelly. Should we be good if the temps drop down in the low 20s?

One thing I am concerned about is the sewer valves and outlets. Are the valves protected by the underbelly or are they exposed? Anything I need to do here?

You should be fine with running your furnace and having an enclosed underbelly.

I would dump some antifreeze into the tanks as well to protect the valves.

We camped at a campground in PA and the water at the site was turned off throughout the campground. We had to fill our fresh water tank at the office building which was heated and winterized. So before you spend money for a heated water hose check with the campground to see if they have winterized posts at the sites.
