Pricing depends on a LOT of factors...location, where it it garaged, value and type of coverage. We use Progressive now and got when the camper was new. The policy covers the camper for replacement cost for the first few years (maybe 5, can't remember) and then it covers it for purchase price agreed upon as long as we own and insure it. $500 deductible. About $330 a year. We used to use other insurances but they were valued at actual cash value but were generally 1/2 the annual cost.

Massachusetts is known for outrageous insurance premiums. Especially in the ‘cities’ of MA. Zip code makes a big difference here.

I'm not going to say what I pay, cause you'll think I'm telling a tale. Check out AARP Hartford. I have my home and auto thru them, too. Maybe that's why my trailer is so low.

We had AARP (Hartford) for quite a while. Premiums kept getting higher with one claim for a deer hitting my Ranger in 2009, excellent credit. Went with Shelter Insurance and saved a lot.

We too had AARP The Hartford for several years and NO claims.
The last 2 years their rate increased $1000.00 each year.
Needless to say......don’t have them anymore.

Can't blame you for changing insurance companies. I wouldn't have paid it the 1st year. I'd have changed my insurance right then and there.

The different posts have been interesting. In the end we stayed with same company due to better coverage. Others I checked were close to the same premium but lacked in coverage.

We were with State Farm 20 years and over paid that long.Switched to GEICO on everything with wheels cut are premiums 35% at least.Same or better coverage! Thanks

That's interesting, USAA would not insure our TT and sent us to Progressive. We traded In the TT for our 2018 Jayco Pinnacle 36FBTS. Our premium doubled, but so did the value of the rig.

I checked out Geico and they said they had to insure the tow vehicle as well. The premium for the Pinnacle was much higher than Progressive, but the truck insurance was less. We ended up keeping Progressive for the Pinnacle, $750/yr, and switched our vehicles to Geico.

Usaa increased our premiums because my husband had a minor fender bender in a parking lot in November 2016, it's just catching up now? That's why we switched to Geico. First claim in years, very diasappointed in the increase as we love USAA.

We did have a claim with Progressive for the TT, a motorcycle rear ended us, no insurance, so we had to pay the deductible and Progressive covered the rest....very frustrated that the guy had no insurance!

Insurance is stupid. Geico is cheaper here, Allstate there and State Farm someplace else. In my neighborhood, the prices vary with the zip code where you live.

Anybody really needs to check them all for your particular circumstances. All I know is that I'll never have Progressive.

Just be thankful you don’t live in the land of no- fault aka Michigan. Our premiums are approximately double most other states, depending on zip code, credit score and age.

I know everyone has different experiences, but Progressive was great with our claim.

I also know that rates vary depending on zip code, here in San Diego, we moved one zip code over and our premium increased $40, ridiculous.

We had Hartford for few years, they were lower than the Farm Bureau that we had previously. Last year, after renewing, checked out Progressive and it was quite a bit lower for the vehicles and FW but not the house. Checked again this winter when getting ready to renew and Progressive was, again, much less than Hartford for the vehicles and about the same for the house. Went to our local State Farm person here in our little town and his price for the house was about half that of Hartford and Progressive while the vehicles were about the same. Switched all our vehicles, FW, boat to State Farm and probably saved around $700 -$800 on the whole bunch. Kept the ATVs at Progressive because State Farm couldn't touch their cost. We'll have to see what next year brings when I shop again for insurance.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I’m really grateful for all of the information that is in this thread. I actually just got my first Jayco and I knew that I’d have to do some research in order to ensure that I had all of the right information in the first place. This thread helped me to save some time and effort, which allowed me to be a little less stressed when it finally came to choosing my insurance. Thanks everyone!

Well depending where you live, sometimes you don’t have a choice.
