Here’s a fresh one for ya as a plane load arrived yesterday from California and we took an old and sick one just an hour ago. This is not a fire dog, it was just dropped off at the society’s door.

It is fun for the first couple of years then it gets boring and you want to get rid of the trailer, puppys grow up and they are not cute anymore and people don't want to be bothered with them, so they let then go.
Especially when you get a $600 emergency vet-visit bill like we did last night. Still, we wouldn’t give him up for anything.

Our English Setter had a twist in her bowel was twisted. We almost lost her but UP vet hospital operated on her. The bill was $8300.00 for her visit.
She is now very good and camping at the Raystown Dam in pa. Money well spent.

This is all so disheartening. There is no such thing as "camping etiquette." It should be called "people etiquette" or "personal responsibility".

When I was a kid we couldn't afford to go camping, but we were able to drive a few miles and have a picnic at the local park. We never left garbage there, even though there were cans available. Mom brought paper shopping bags and we took the crap home. Dad and Grandpa smoked but the butts were GI'd and the filters went in the bag and we took them home as well.

When we went fishing we took the dead worms home, along with any fish that we caught. Us kids were taught to never leave garbage behind.

When Grandpa gave us a used Boy Scout tent that had been discarded, Mom sewed the damage and Dad and I camped at a fishing hole and once again we took the garbage home with us.

No, its not camping etiquette, its the current I, Me and who cares attitude. People are lazy pigs today. Its not the way we were brought up and my kids have the same morals.

That's why we don't go public camping any more. The land we bought was reasonable and the taxes are minimal. We don't have to put up with pigs anymore either.

Rant over.

Yes there are some not so nice campers. We have found that paying more for your site helps eliminate that flaw.
We are at a KOA for a week. Today we met campers and they stopped by to see our spoiled dogs. I also grew up with nothing. We made a bakers tent. We had nothing but it was also the best of time. Today a new camper could not get his weight distribution bar to stay in his recover. I took the time to show him. Later he came over with fire wood for me. There are good people and good kids still today. I enjoy everyone. There will always be an @$$ #*/-. If you do good for people it will one day come back to you. Camping is a lifestyle.

Wing-Nuts, another good name along with ME-ME's . Nuby's that know nothing and just have no respect for others or nature.

I’m a newbie myself, but I have done a lot of research and again joined forums like this one. I think that there’s going to be a lot of people getting themselves in numerous situations that will end up costing them, because they think RV operates just like a house. There’s going to be a lot of flat batteries and hot people wondering why there a/c doesn’t work etc.
I’ve learnt so much from researching and fixing things myself, knowing that I’m not always going to be able to just call for help, I even replaced my converter, very carefully and while taking a lot of pics. Electricity is definitely not my forte, so this was huge for me and it also gave me a really good understanding of how RV electricity works.

As my wife and I did. Every trip is a venture. Sometimes you have to pay a price to earn your wings.
Just think back when you started. Who helped you out a camper came over and helped.
We have run into older campers that were rude but not very many. I have made friends by helping them out. Also just by a hello.
This weekend past I helped a man that his leveling bar fell out when pulling. Showed him how to put it in and lock it. Pull it back and push down to check it was locked. Also had to grease it.
They said thanks and pulled out knowing everything is good. That it what us seasoned campers must do. Make our camping lifestyle special.
