second battery location
I have a 2011 Jayflight 28BHS and want to add a 2nd battery.
Anyone do this and how?
Seems I need to rotate 90 degrees on tongue but tanks are in the way!

isn't your current battery in behind your tanks. Mine is in front and there wouldn't be much room for another battery there
would this work

Welcome to JOF
I'm not sure if your A-frame dimensions are the same as my Eagle, but here is my dual battery installation:

this would work...however My battery is of the 29 ( more power storage than batterys shown ) series 13" long without box, xs 2 is 26 inches, existing frame opening is only 25" at front
I was thinking of turning 90 degrees but then I would
have to move tanks and tray up and they would be sitting on u-bolts for stabilizer Don't know if that would be a good idea.

What about going to 2 - 6volt. Better system although it will cost you more

If you put them in their own box could you angle them so they fit?

you could always sell it. As many threads show 2 6's are the way to go.

That was Roy Braddy that had the diamond plate set up. I imagine if you go to his albums you'd see it.

Change the bracket from inside the A frame to above the A frame.. that is what I did when I put the 6-6 volt batteries on.. and yes I called Jayco first to make sure it would handle the weight.. Photos of it in the mod section..

Similar to Seann45, I only have 4, not 6 batteries and I turned them 90 degrees.

I built a new tray for mine that sits on top of the frame rails and allow them to extend slightly beyond the frame. There was barely room between the propane tank cover and the front cap of the trailer, so be sure to check that. I did get two group 29's in their own box with a disconnect switch to fit.
