Secure the battery

I'm wandering what you folks are doing to secure your batteries. My former RVs had a locking door to a compartment. On the new Jay Flight, the battery sits outside on the A frame for the hitch in a plastic box secured only by a nylon strap. I don't want to make it easy for crooks to steal a $100 plus battery.

Mine just sits on the tongue in the plastic box and had no problems, but now youv got me thinkin, maybe it should be moved. I guess it wouldnt be much of a chore to move it inside the front storage compartment.

LOL... ya, I thought of that too... My 'old' TT had a locked compartment for the propane tanks, the battery and everything else you could think of.

JAYCO has a lot of faith in human nature - everything is out in the open and available to anyone going for the 5-finger-discount. I haven't figured out how to secure the battery yet, but I'm certainly open to suggestions!

I removed the battery and drilled a hole through the battery box and lid , then reinstalled the battery , and put a cheap lock into the hole . That way some one will at least have to fight to get the id off , its not Fort Knox but it will take a few minutes and hopefully leave it alone .
