I do the same as MUSTANG65,,, Easy to drill hole down through the wing nut as shown. However anyone with a battery operated grinder or bolt cutter can cut the lock in seconds.. Just slows them them down abit hopefully...

Bottom line is there isn't much one can do to protect from theft. Just keep the honest folks more honest is about all you can do... Maybe do something to make it a bit more difficult and time consuming. I also have motion detector lights that come on my trailer when someone or some thing comes wandering up from the trails. Of course that probably just gives the thief more light to work from hehe...
In all my travels I have never lost anything to theft. Its funny but I did lose my sears DC Current meter that I use to measure DC CURRENT current around the 4AWG battery cables... I looked and looked for it around my Trailer Tool box the next time I needed it not to be found... A month of so later I was camping back up off a trail I like to go to alot and there it was laying under a tree haha... Right where I laid it I suppose...
