Senior moments we will admit!

We left home a week ago on a 2 month trip. I noticed that my truck TSP TPMS were not indicating any tire pressure on any truck tires but the trailer was good to go. I was getting correct pressure on the OE Tire pressure monitor on the trucks indicators so we just continued traveling for the 200 mile trip.

After arriving at the days drive, I asked my wife to check the screw on senders to see if anything looked wrong. She said "There are no sensors on any of the truck tires!"

Shortly after, I remembered having the truck serviced the week before we left and I had removed all the sensors so they could rotate the tires.

That is a true senior moment for sure Norty, I have more than one but I'm waiting to finish my morning coffee before I decide where to start.

This has the makings of a great thread - looking forward to some comical reading!

I’m just short of 70 years old and after pondering this question over two cups of coffee I think I’m quit sure that I have never had a senior moment that I can remember!

Yup....I'm on the tother side of 70, and to admit to having a senior moment would require remembering that senior moment, senior moment, senior moment....

DW came into the kitchen and asked me why I was staring into the refrigerator. I told her there was a bottle of something in there that said 'Concentrate' on it so I was.

... also on the other side of 70. There are frequent lags in conversations because the thought is lost. Being a retired railroader I say "I'm sorry but my train of thought derailed and there are no survivors."

I live in Englewood. The nickname is Wrinklewood. We are a community of senior moments.

I'm approaching half way thru my 70's decade and I've finally had to admit age does have an adverse effect, if I could just remember what it is.

A few years ago we were at a campground in St George, Utah. Backed into a spot and hooked up the electric before I realized our length did not allow me enough room to park in that spot. I got permission to move to a longer spot but forgot to unhook the cord and drug it to my next spot, unfortunately witnessed by our traveling friends.

Got to the new spot, this time got everything hooked up and was all was good. A day or two later I needed to empty the gray tank, went outside and opened the valve but the flow stopped. I assumed the problem was with the park hook up so went over to see what was up. As soon as I jiggled the hose connector it exploded off the pipe and showered me good thankfully with just grey water. My problem was I had hooked up to a pvc pipe which had a sprinkler system cut off at the bottom to keep it from freezing. I had several witnesses and to this day I still get to hear the story repeated. I still thank God that my black tank wasn't full.

Nice one. How about the time I forgot to put grease on the hitch ball. I proceeded to lift the TT off the ball so I could grease it, but forgot to chock the trailer wheels. Thankfully the safety chains worked. I didn't even bend the tongue jack!

Okay! Probably the scariest Senior Moment was when I was in my 30s (just turned 71).

Hitched up the Nomad Bunkhouse trailer and drove about 75 miles to a campground with the wife and two kids. When I started unhitching at the campsite, I noticed I failed to put the retainer clip on the hitch pin. I can only surmise that the constant pressure from towing kept the pin from falling out.

Kinda makes one really believe in God?

Well seeing all your ages I guess I'm safe from senior moments at least for a while as I just turned 61...

What....you haven't yet stepped out of the grocery store and had to stop for a minute to remember where you parked it?

No problem finding the truck. Magic red button on the fob tells me exactly where it is. It's trying to remember why I went to the grocery store in the first place. The call home goes like this.

"Honey, exactly what do you want from the store?"

" I made out a list for you."

"Yeah...could you see if it's still on the counter>"

"Sure is sweetie...right next to your wallet."

As frustrating as it may be I'm glad I, and obviously others here, can make light of it, in a good way. A good sense of humor helps ease the transition from our younger selves to our not so young selves.

Agree completely. It's the only way to go without driving yourself nuts.

My previous MH had the LP tank on the service side, beside the water, sewer, elec, etc. This one has it on the party side. I have yet to position it on the correct side when I need to fill the tank. My only excuse is we have only owned it for 7 months.

Jim.

I lost my sunglasses once while fishing on the shore of the reservoir. After fishing for a couple hours, I head back to the truck. Get in, look in the rear view...

Yep...you guessed it....on my hat.

I was sailing a 23' sailboat in my younger days and some spray got on my sunglasses. I grabbed them and pitched them in the cabin, they bounced off the boat and into the drink!
