Sewer hose storage

The newer sewer hoses are a 1/2" bigger in diameter than the 4" storage tube on the curbside of the camper. Does Jayco make a larger diameter tube?

First of all WELCOME TO THE SITE!

Can you tell us what brand of hose you have? Curious as to what you have other than the "standard" size.

I installed a 8 foot plastic white fence post underneath my Class C. You can buy caps for it. One I screwed on permanently, one I secured with a short bungee court. I drilled holes in the bottom for drainage and ventilation and cut a bigger hole on the bottom at the end for the corner piece. Fits 2 Rhino hoses with connector and everything.

X2 I have the same setup bolted to the frame under our 5th wheel right next to the sewer connection. Works great and looks nice.

I store mine in the back of my truck when not in use. It airs out that way too.

They still sell the one I have. Fits my bumper perfectly... https://www.amazon.com/Camco-RhinoFL...AR9BMMKBP4RY08

Seems easier to buy a hose to fit your bumper than a bumper to fit an odd sized hose... but that's just me.

My new Rhino 20' sewer hose (two ten foot sections) fits in my Jayco (2019 154BH Baja) bumper just fine. The connections need to be turned to the correct position to slide in, but it fits like a glove (a properly sized one).

Yes turn the connections to the 2,4,8,10 o'clock positions [I think] and it should slide right into your 4'' bumper.

I haven't had that problem fortunately, but if somebody wants to steal a sewer hose they I hope they enjoy the dirty one they just lifted. I full time so mine doesn't stay in the truck long. Only between campgrounds.

I suspect the OP has a RhinoFlex hose. The connections OD are a little larger than the hose that came with my unit. The RF hose ends won’t fit in the bumper but the standard hose will. I made a shelf above the dump valve to store mine.

Can you get all 20' of that hose in the 7' bumper tube?

The click lock Rhino hose expands and contracts as you push and pull it. I don't know about a 20' contracting to 7' but a 10' section would easily fit. Mine wouldn't fit in the bumper because of the outside diameter of the fittings.

Does yours have fitting that can actually be spun on the end of the hose? I have the Rhino Flex too, and when I went to slide it into the bumper the first time, the end fittings wouldn't go in, and I said crap.....

But after a DUH moment (and being a newbie) I realized if I just twisted the end fitting so it cleared the corners of the bumper, it fit fine.

Being that you have a newer Melbourne, I would think we have the same sized bumper.

I also have two ten foot sections in my bumper, when they accordian down, both sections fit.

We put it in the back bumper. Lost it there too when the factory cap fell off. Don't put it in the back of the truck. It will blow out.. Either put it in a plastic box in the basement or buy some good closures for the bumper. We use the plastic box

I have two 10' sections stored in my rear bumper. I keep them separate, and put one in each end of the bumper, with no problem.

Even with my previous 154bh, this worked, although the 154 was only 7 foot wide, while the our current 224bh is 8 foot wide.

Mine does have those fittings that twist off but I have never taken them off. That is an option but the RF fits nicely and is convenient above the waste valve with the fittings on.
