I have been using a macerator pump for years and am happy with it.

RoadrunnerII, The camper is sitting on one 2x6 now. Another one would help a little bit, but still present the same problem. I don't think digging a pit would be acceptable. LOL

I have no idea how many days we can go without dumping. Our planned summer trips are 4 days long. Time will tell the answer to that. I do love the idea of having a bathroom.
I use a 42 gal Barker. Wife and I can go 10 days.

I purchased a macerater. This attaches to the sewer outlet and will pump out your tanks via a garden hose. This has been a great tool. Not having to worry about portable tanks and storage of those. I have had no problem pumping 100 feet with a 3/4" garden hose. Nearly as cheap as those portable tanks.

I keep a 42 gallon tank in the back of the pickup. Pump into it and drive to the dump station. Sure beats trying to drag that little tank on those little wheels.

U could consider a black tank macerator pump kit. About $225 from Amazon. It is a power pump system and will move the tank contents uphill if needed.

Black water tank pumping

I spend each winter camped in northern Florida on a private estate. The grey water is dumped intro a pecan orchard when it is full. Until this year, I had to pack up and go to a nearby KOA to dump black water.

But I learned something: For $40-50 (KOA wanted $20) a portable toilet truck comes to where I am located and pumps my black water, then grey water to clean the pipe. He comes every other Friday. For a few dollars more, I don't need to move. I learned this from another friend that camps for the winter. It is well worth the extra $$.

Unless you are parked close by dump station lugging close to 200lb blue tank with small wheels is not something i would do. One slip and your back or shoulder is possibly injured. My two cents.

My trailer does not move from my site all season long. I have a 28gal portable and empty my tanks when 3/4 full into it. I run water into the toilet to help flush while emptying and water into tub for gray water. I connect the portable to my hitch and tow it to dump station.

Too Tall Tote

I just purchased the same Rhino tote. I never thought about measuring the height to our 2020 SLX 287BHS sewer pipe. Yes a real pain in the tote if it’s too high.

My brand new Macerator pump from Amazon is due to be delivered tomorrow. It seems like that will solve the problem. I will still be using the tote between the camp site and the dump station. My tote has good size wheels and I've removed those hammer-on axle locks and installed cotter pins with washers after reading of a mishap with a wheel falling off.

A picture is worth a thousand turds...

Seriously.

I am new to all of this and just getting ready to start exercising all this wisdom (rebuilding a toy hauler). I really don't want any surprises.

Can someone post a picture or diagram of the entire "system" we are speaking about?

Can you elevate the vehicle with blocks so that it’s a little higher?

I’ve read in the manual not to level more than 4 inches. So adding height helps but not much room.

I expect I'll duplicate others' responses, but this looks like a job for a macerator pump. The macerator pump will pump waste "uphill."
https://smile.amazon.com/s?k=rv+mace...nb_sb_ss_i_1_9

Given the "low-rider" status of your black tank dump, this may be handy in lots of situations. Furthermore, if you were to have or install a sewer "cleanout" at home, you could dump your black tank thru a "garden hose" at home.

No solution is perfect, but the macerator pump concept is tried and true. Many home septic systems use an at-grade flush basin with a macerator pump to grind and pump the effluent uphill to a leach field.

Gravity isn't the only way to get-'er-done.
