Shade/Blind Problems

I have a shade in my 2014 and the string tensioner has broke. Has anyone repaired this? Or is it easier to replace the shade

DW has repaired each one of the 6 shades in our TT, some of them more than once. Seems to be an annual activity in the middle of the camping season. DW has it down to a science now. She purchased a roll of cord, to keep... just in case. The single shade string packages they sell (on Amazon) do not last long. There are 2 and 4 string shades, watch the videos to find out the difference and how to do each. Don't panic, it is a lot easier than it sounds, I am the assistant when and if needed. It now takes less than a half an hour to do one shade. If your TT is still under warranty, contact JAYCO (service@jayco.com) as the shades are covered under the warranty.

Buy the chord at https://www.fixmyblinds.com/ Buy a spool of the 2.0mm chord. They also have videos on how to do it. Get the spool of chord, just in case.

You can also Google : "youtube repair rv shades"
and ALL the how-to videos will pop up for you. Watch them a bunch of times before starting, watch different ones and you will see which is the best way to do it, for you. If you have a tablet, you can get the video up while you are changing the strings, and pause it when you need to.

You might want to do just what Mustang has said to do, but I wanted to let you know that I had one break when I was already taking my trailer in for a repair to the skirting. I asked if they could fix the blind and they said they would just replace it. I was surprised at how reasonable it was. This was in Middlebury, Indiana...so they were able to get the part easily.

It's an easy and simple repair. Like Mustang65 says, just Google it.
