Shore power conversion
Anyone out there convert their shore power connections to a “smart plug” or “Furrion”connection?
I am getting a little tired of that little cubby on my RedHawk! Want to install an outside connector to make things easier!
Also if you did, where did you relocate the new plug connector on your rig?
Have a nice amount of space just below the gas cap fill up but I don’t think that’s a good location for fear of gas and electric next to each other.

I added a transfer switch & a second 50 amp plug on the front wall for generator but haven't needed to use.

Mounted switch in basement area behind the wall where the plumbing , furnace, etc is. Moved wire in breaker to switch and ran new wire to switch from breaker & 50 amp plug. Mounted plug on a space beside my front storage. Made a backer from scrap plywood to reinforce the mounting screws.

I wired my Progressive EMS behind our basement wall and am now wondering if it would be wise to move my 50 amp recepticle to the middle of the rig. Most parks I've been too have utilities alongside the rig instead of the back corner. There's plenty of space just need to check for water/cable lines...

I did just this on my Redhawk this past year. Mounted a hardwired EMS and permanently installed my Hughes inside the power cable storage compartment and added the Marinco shore power plug to have everything tidy and not have to force the cable back and forth through the small opening at the bottom of the compartment. I too was looking at installing the connector on the side of the coach, but then realized it made more sense to install it on the power compartment door, that way if I screwed up drilling a giant hole in my brand new rig, I'd only have to replace the door.
I did not take any pictures at the time, but I'd be glad to send you some. I'll have the rig out in the next week or so.
