short sun shade

Hello-

I have seen the sun shades that attach to the awning, but they are usually 8' or so long. I'm looking for something that is 2' or 3' - I just need more overhang than the built in one provides.

I did notice the little slot, and it's already occupied by the factory overhang awning part. Is that attached to my actual awning and it's all one piece? I couldn't tell when looking at it quickly.

Anyways, if anyone knows of a sun shade that just is a bit more over hang than what comes from the factory, that would be great. I can find a way to make whatever work. But having an 8' one for us is unnecessary.

Thanks!

I’ve been looking at this one. They have different sizes, but it looks like the top piece might work for you. It rolls up with awning the bottom piece zips onto it.

That's the one we have also. We got one shorter that the ones that go all the way to the ground. We can slide ours sideways to get shade.

The site has a number of options that give you choices but the zipper addition is what makes it so easy to put up and close. It stays on the awning.

Wow - great that would be ideal!

So do you happen to know if my awning is all one piece (the awning and the overhang)? There was only one slot in the roll bar, and the over hang part was hanging out in there.

Would I be able to just take out the overhang that's currently in the slot, and then pop that one in there?

Thanks!!

My awning is a “ carefree “ and it has two slots. The slots are about 180 degrees off set from each other. My over hang looks to be part of the main awning, meaning I still have one open slot. I’ve never looked closely enough at other brand awnings to notice one or two slots.

Thanks. I'm not sure what I have. I'm not the original owner of this one, but I think it's the same one from that factory.

I looked pretty good and only saw the one slot. It also has the black end caps on there that I'll have to figure out how to navigate.

Well I'm just going to order the one suggested, and see what I can figure out!

After doing a bit more thinking, I'm going to try to add grommets to my awning overhang and add this:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Much more cost effective, and I don't ever need the extra height (I'm at a seasonal site). All I really need is a couple of feet of extra overhang.

I plan to put grommets in with my handheld grommet tool. Has anyone ever added grommets to their existing awning? I'm wondering if the grommet tool will punch through no problem.

Thanks.
