Slide out Roof Duct Tape??

I have just noticed that the curb side slide on my 2017 JayFlight 29 RLDS is rubbing on the slide seal near the rear to the point that it has removed some of a strip of black duct/sealing tape. It looks like a single strip the length of the slide.
I have attached some pics but is this something I should be concerned about or just place another strip of tape down.
The TT is still under warranty and I am calling my dealership today about it.
I have had no issues at all with the TT so I hope this is a easy fix.
I would like to hear if anyone else has had this problem???

Let the dealer handle it. I wouldn't mess with it if it's under warranty. Make them fix it.

I agree, take the TT into your RV dealer for a service warranty review/photos....., and get a dated copy of the service warranty write-up (don't walk away without one). Since you may be getting close to the end of your warranty I would follow-up (in person) a week after your dealer review visit and ask for a copy of the actual service warranty request that was sent to Jayco for warranty approval.

But yes, the existing black tape needs to be "removed" and replaced with new (ideally with Eternabond sealer tape). I've seen that cheap black tape peeling off some new units sitting on dealer's lot.

Based on your description ("rubbing") the slide may require an adjustment as well....., and confirm that there isn't any gaps between the horizontal wiper seal and the slide roof surface when fully extended (common issue)......, and that the rubbing condition hasn't compromised the EPDM roofing material. The wiper seal not only removes surface debris, it's also the first defense against moisture intrusion.

Here's a couple JOF threads that may provide some insight....:

Thanks Rustic Eagle...
It hasn’t compromised the EPDM roof yet but it seems like the material is loose in that area...
Called dealer this morning and I have an appointment in 2 weeks to evaluate...

Definitely not a desirable condition.

Dealer was great!!!

I wanted to thank everyone who commented on my post, it was greatly appreciated...
I worked with White Horse RV in Williamstown, NJ. They contacted Jayco and got the warranty work OK’d by Jayco. They ended replacing the entire slideout roof and also aligning the slideout. They had it for a 9 days and it was ready to go.

I will definitely recommend this dealer and will purchase future RVs from them. The service experience was great which I wanted to make note on this forum as you hear very little about the good guys that are out there...

Safe travels everyone!!!
