Slideout and couch-motor issues...
Two issues over the weekend:2017 Jayco Melbourne 24M.
--The slideout would not retract--at first. Finally, it did.
We were dry camping, parked on dirt. Heavy rain saturated the soil. The driver-side rear tires sunk about 4 inches. Upon preparing to depart, the slideout would not retract. We suspected it might be because the coach was torqued due to the sinking into the mud. Well, we drove onto flat and hard ground--and it still did not retract. It would move about an inch on one side and about 2 inches on the other and then stop. We powered it, an inch or two at a time, when it would jam, over the next 20 minutes. Then, we pushed the retract button several times, and the slideout moved an inch or so at a time--until one side was flush with the coach and the other side was about a half-inch out. Then one more push on the retract button, and it closed up tight.
Whew!
Is it possible for the teeth on the rails on which the slideout moves to become misaligned, perhaps by one or more sets of wheels being uneven?
We are now afraid to try to deploy the slideout for fear it will not retract.
The other problem involved the motor that reclines the couch onto which the Murphy bed drops. The first symptom of a problem was a clunk under the seat cushion. The clunk was intermittent and continued for about two hours. Clunk. Pause. Clunk. Pause. We were puzzled. Then at bedtime, the button for the motor that drops the backrest of the couch into a level position would not move the couch. Then suddenly, it did, and we positioned the couch to prepare to drop the Murphy bed.
Whew!
What might be happening in both scenarios?
