Slides in or out

This question has probably been asked before but I am going to be getting a seasonal site next year and was wondering if you should leave your slides out or bring them in each time you go out.

X2 and it also keeps the seals from deteriorating at a faster pace.

May be a thousand things wrong with this, but I've done it for well over 10 years and 4 different campers and never experienced a problem. I too stay at a seasonal site and mine come out the middle of March and stay out until I close up for the season the middle part of December. I do spray my seals with conditioner 1-2 times a year and run them in on occasion when the awning toppers sag to much and when I wash the camper. Besides that, they stay out.

We don't camp seasonal - but different places about once a month. Camper is stored at home, and slides are always stored closed in between trips. Much easier on slide awnings in wind and thunderstorms.

.

Been at seasonal site for 7 years. In spring, the slide goes out and stays out (until fall). In fall, the slide goes in and stays in - for winter storage months. When slide is in our out, I also discovered that spray foam within its lower corners help keep mice out as well. Thus, I spray foam $1 worth of foam in spring and $1 worth of foam in the fall. This works great for our seasonal site.

If you are DIY person, one might want to create a sectional hard top for their slide as well. Connect to trailer using "sloppy bolt" hinges and support its outer edge with telescopic steel posts. Thus, adding a slopped hard cover to your seasonal site TT. And, make the sectional panels to be removable by using a sloppy hinge pin. During year 3 at our seasonal site, I build my slide's hard cover (3.5 ft by 4 ft overlapping sections). It works great!! Especially during hard rain storms. re: - click here -

Our slides are out at least 10 months each year.
