Snap pads

Getting ready to install. Has anyone used flex seal first on the medal pads before installing the snap pads? The directions stated for “extra protection”, but did t really see the need. Thoughts?

I just used dish soap to put them on. Haven’t had any problems with them in the 2 yrs they’ve been on! Great product!

X 3. Have had them on now for 2 years, used some dish soap to help with installation. Saw no need for anything else to stop corrosion. My jack plates still look like new.

I wish I had done that to the metal pads before installing the snap pads. I think it would make it easier to clean them.

We have a 2017 Jayco Greyhawk and I have been looking into "snap pades'. The reviews I have seen are great and I plan on ordering a set. From what I have read as others have stated use dish soap to install.

How long did you need to let them dry before you put your shoes back on

I have been looking at these but I do have one question, the reason you add though blocks is to Lessing the distance to the ground so you want have to let your jacks down as far.

So now if you get these and if you don't need though Lego blocks how is that lessing the travel of your jacks?

I would get them but you would still have to let your jacks down far less the thickest of the snap pad.

Snap pads aren't necessarily intended to reduce the travel of the jacks. Snap Pads are intended top protect the feet of the jacks.

They also give a bigger footprint for more stability.

Best add-on I have purchased! Used dish soap to install on feet of jacks. Easy installation. For me a added feature was the ease of leveling. I have the electric auto-leveling system by LCI. Could never (and I mean NEVER) get the system to work as described. Added the Snap-Pads, and have never had a problem since. I can't explain why but I'm glad I added them.

One of the reasons I have them is that some RV parks require a pad under the jacks

Okay, so that will be defeat the purpose on getting the snap pads when shorten the jacks will be a little more stability inside the rv, wouldn't it be?

So to use the SP will you still need to put some blocks underneath so that the jacks want have to come down as far? Or, I'm I looking at this wrong?

So this is how snap pads work. The footprint on the bottom of the leveling jacks are made of metal and usually not very large. This causes a small amount of surface area to make contact with the ground when the jacks are extended and the rig is leveled, thus causing some instability in addition to possible penetration/settling of the jacks into the ground surface. Many campgrounds require some form of block between the leveling jacks and the ground to prevent any damage to their facilities. Some would argue why not just use a few pieces of wood or plastic blocks? That is fine, however, many do not want to crawl around on their hands and knees configuring the wood or plastic blocks, especially if having to set up in inclement weather. Snap Pads solve these issues. They are always installed so no need to crawl under the RV. They provide a padded wider area for the leveling jacks to contact the surface, thus preventing excess settling into the ground and preventing any damage to campgrounds (meeting any jack pad requirements there may be). But most importantly they provide a more stable leveling surface that is very noticeable inside the rig. Much more stable and far less sway. I have had Snap Pads for 2+ years now, and they are great!
