Snowed in at home

Well it won't be our first camping trip of the year. wife and i wanted to head to Cape Cod tonight and do some winter camping but with Blizzard Charlotte heading our way it put a hold on that. I still think it would be nice being there and snowed in for a day or two or three or four or five...... well better to be at home I guess the fireplace insert pumping out the heat and the snow falling down. 24 inches is a lot of snow. 2-3 inches per hour and it is going to end on Saturday so were all gased up and ready for a busy Saturday.

A friend and I will spend this afternoon at the Novi RV show. But then we only got 3-4 inches and not 3-4 feet of snow.

We last had any significant snow, meaning more than a trace, back in 1993.

That is exactly why my father retired to Lillian.

We are expecting a foot of snow Sunday. That’s not enough to slow us down. I wish I was out camping. But I think we will be going the RV show this weekend instead!

O.K it is 8:00 pm and the snow is really comming down now it has to be about 3 inches per hour. wind is blowing about 15mph can't see far probably 1/8 mile if that. snow is even sticking to the windows in the house. looking at the local weather we have a heavier band of snow heading our way. time for another log in the fireplace insert and head to bed. can' wait to find out what tomorrow morning brings.

Yeah, this stinks. I got home from work about 1:30 and the sleet/rain/snow mixture had changed over to all snow. We had about an inch of slush on the driveway so I got all that off before it froze.

I was inside watching TV and for a few hours and went outside to clean everything again about 6:30. We had at least 7-8" on the driveway that I had already cleaned an inch off 5 hours prior. I couldn't believe how quickly it came down.

Yep been snowing here all day, got the snowblower out at 3 so the wife could get in the driveway, thick, heavy heart attack snow... calling for another 3-6 tonight and won't stop until tomorrow afternoon. Looking at 18 inches or so if they guess right. Supposed to be 40F on Sunday... can't wait for spring to get rid of this stuff.

The storm is moving out of southern Ontario in an hour or so. We got about 14" of the white stuff.

Got at least 18 inches so far and its not over yet. They said we could see 30+. And the wind in blowing something fierce. Hopefully our power stays on.

You've got to be kidding, they're naming snowstorms now?

31" here. It's 10am and I'm already 3 beers deep after shoveling for 2+ hours. Time for breakfast!

I made good use of being snowbound by making campground reservations for the 2013 season. I hope the Town of Sandwich on Cape Cod doesn't get flooded or their board walk wash away!
