Solar on a Jayco

I am in a 2014 Jayflight Swift 238 RB. I will be adding 500 watts of solar to the roof and a 200AH LIpo battery.
Where are folks putting the charge controller, inverter and battery in their rigs?
Thanks in advance

I have the same model, just a bit newer with the same layout. First off I have wet cell deep cycle batteries, two mounted on my hitch. I assume you want to mount yours inside.

Anyway I installed my inverter under the overhang of the sleeping bed plywood support upright. I did put a backing block inside for the fasteners since the finish plywood is thin.

. My controller is mounted under the open area of the bedside cabinet on the curb to the face of the interior wall side between the nightstand counter. This way I can see all the battery and solar readings and adjust my float easily for storage in particular. My wires from my panels after I joined them together on the roof runs across the roof top to a side mounted cable entry box just behind the front cap molding.

I drilled two holes thru the metal siding to the inside, which allowed the wiring to go inside the cabinet and down to the controller secured to the backside corner inside the cabinet. Then the two comes out of the bottom and runs under the bottom of the cabinet and does a u turn into the controller.

My wires to the batteries then go a similar route back to corner and thru two holes in the corner of the flat surface and to the batteries. Of course I advise
inline fuse or a breaker in the run. You can probably get by with mounting your battery in the center of your storage area, which is a short run to both the battery and the inverter. I use six to eight feet of 2 gauge to my inverter, with its own inline fuse too. I use the ANL type .

If you need a few pictures, I can provide those too at a later time.

2017 23RB Jayco Jayflight, great camper, loved it but sold, dog told me she needed more room, rigged perfectly and updated for off the grid.

Smile Great Answer!

Thanks. your description is excellent. Never considered under the bed. So it will be 2 residential panels on the roof (250 W ea) The LiFePo under the bed, charge controller and inverter in the forward storage (or nearby) and 110v wires running to the power distribution panel.
Thanks for eliminating the guesswork!

Not sure if you have seen this - https://youtu.be/KM_8s4cTjWA?si=866eKhcQlWfYs6rE, it's a complete walkthrough of what I think you are trying to do (except that the TT had been pre-wired for solar). Might give you a few ideas.
