"Solar Ready" on 2019 JayFeather 27RL - Solar Charge Port on A-Frame

I have a 2019 JayFeather 27RL TT that is “Solar Ready”. It is wired with a GoPower “Solar on the Side” charge port mounted on the A-Frame of the trailer. As delivered from the dealer, there is a RED wire coming from the back side of this SAE plug that appears to be included in a bundle of wires that goes into a junction box that is attached to the trailer’s frame. The BLACK wire from the back of the SAE plug is hanging loose. I need to know where to attach this BLACK wire to make this plug setup functional. Can I or should I go directly to the NEGATIVE terminal on the battery? Or should I try to find an appropriate place to attach it in the junction box? Jayco won’t advise but they did provide a schematic. The dealer won’t advise over the phone and I really don’t want to drag the trailer on a 100 mile round trip for a 5 minute fix. Attached is the schematic I got from Jayco. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Mike

It's connected at the SAE end and hanging lose on the other yeah? if that schematic is correct, then you can see if you can get access to the junction box and make the connection there, or bypass the box and send that black to any good ground. Either way, same result. I'd go to the battery.

the black wire on ours is bonded to the frame which in turn goes to the battery ground so not sure which is better.

Mine goes directly to the frame, right close to the plug. You'll be fine to do the same, just make sure you have a good ground by removing the paint first. Then touch up the paint to keep from rusting. On the other hand, going to the neg
battery terminal works, too; then you don't have to do all that other stuff.
