Spectrafire Fireplace Blower?

This is my first experience with an electric fireplace. So far I like it although there are two shortcomings:

1. The remote does not allow you to set the thermostat. You have to do that on the control panel. That pretty much makes the remote useless unless you are attending to the ambience or the on/off function. I really use the heater for functionality not ambience. Here in Texas in these winter months as the sun sets the temps go down steadily so I set the thermostat accordingly but late at night the temps drop to the low 40's requiring another adjustment. By morning the temps are in the thirties requiring a further adjustment. Remote is useless in this case.

2. It is a great heater but does it have a blower or fan unit in it? I have not found that is does.

What are my fellow Jaycoites using to move the heat around the RV? Are you putting a fan in front of it or on the mantel? Am I missing a blower function somehow? I do have the fan "on" for the roof mounted AC hoping it will move some of the heat, but I am not sure that is helping. I will save the propane for the really cold that I know is coming.

Any input is welcome. Location and type of fan would be helpful.

Bill

Our Eagle has the furion fireplace and it does have a fan. You can hear it running and feel the heat exhausting from the grate at top.
You may need the fan pulled and serviced. It is usually a small squirrel cage type. Usually with sleeve bearings on each end. A drop or two of light oil will free up the bearings if they are dried out. Fan should spin freely
YMMV

Okay, but I do not have a Furrion. My remote is clearly a Spectrafire and I do not think it has a blower.

We have a spectrafire. It does have a fan, only one setting, it is not adjustable. The fan should continue to run for about a minute after turning the heat off, to cool the heater down. You can adjust everything else that can be changed on the fireplace with the remote but, you cannot control the temp setting. Temp setting can only be set at the control panel on the fireplace, which I think is strange. Temp and on and off is what gets changed most often.

Mine has a Dimplex. No remote but it has a internal fan to move warm air away.

Combined with our ceiling fan, it does a great job in mild cold weather.

Thanks all. I guess I will just put an oscillating fan in front of it to move the warm air. I do not think the mantel is wide enough for a larger fan.

Thanks.
