Send some warmth to the East Coast!!!!!! Spring feels like it's a half year away. It's only getting colder here and the snowpack is building weekly.

Send it our way too. Snow has been light this year, but the temps are dropping again.

It has been in the 60's and 70's this week, but may get down to 30-32 Friday.

The only thing in the air here is more snow. It's about 4 feet deep now on my front lawn and they predict -35 F. wind chill by Sunday.

I have fond memories of spending the Summer of 1984 in Winnsboro as a Consulting Engineer working on the fertilizer plant for Mr. Hatfield.

Is the plant still there and is the old boy still around?

WOW! Its is a small world. They were one of better customers. We printed poison labels for them years. The plant (Micro) is there but I don't think they are still in business, I think Charlie has died.

Its been a long time and my memory ain't so good any more....

As I recall, Charlie was the son. His Dad was the owner, and also owned the Hardware store and was the mayor.

I used to go to the bar every day after work for a few beers and always got eyed by the locals. Of course my accent identifies me as a yankee for sure. One day the bartender came over and wouldn't give me another beer. He asked me a lot of questions, and when he found out I was helping Mr Hatfield (and not a union rep trying to organize the cotton pickers....LOL) they ALL bought me a beer and I was welcomed from that day on.

Like I said....memories....

I Just can't remember either I have had a couple strokes (but who is counting) Mr Tom owned the Hardware store which is closed and he did die, My son bought that house. I was think Charlie Toms brother owned the Micro.

WE only have had one union business in Winnsboro and that was "Cajun Boats" and it is closed. Our little town has got the Walmart syndrome . If you had been a union man ...... well lets not talk about that.

There are no corners here in the NE, if there are we can't see around them beacuse the snow is piled up too high!.
