Stabilizer Jack Won't Stay Up

Getting ready to leave in the morning for Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. While raising one jack, the unit fully closed and all of a sudden the threaded rod screwed out of the jack. It appears as though one of the two flat/thrust washers became detached from the threaded rod - it appears as though it was spot welded to the rod. Has anyone disassembled a jack to make repairs such as this? A simple weld can fix the unit good as new.

I don't know if this is any help or not but once I couldn't get the jack to go up right before leaving for a trip. Noticed the screw came out and so I took a 16-penny nail and stuck it through the small hole and then bent it back to prevent it from coming back out. Has been working fine ever-since
