Storage woes

We have officially entered camping season, but, our camper is STILL is storage. We took advice to store it at a county fairground, but then the caretaker took ill. We got a hold of his wife who told us not to call, that they would call us. My concern is that we have our first outing scheduled for the 16th!! Any advice?

I would get ahold of the County Commisioners office.
Someone else has a key to allow you to get your TT.

Try contacting the fair board president or a member of the fair board.

X2. In our state, fair boards own and operate almost all the fairgrounds in the state, and all members have keys. Probably the same or similar in your state.

The only problem is, how far is his buried. I know with our fairgrounds, if you happen to have one of the campers that ends up in the middle sucks to be you. I'm sure the original poster doesn't want to have to move a dozen campers to get to his and I'm sure the fair board doesn't want him to because of the liability if he should tear someone else's camper up.

I know it doesn't help you now, but I would never, ever, store my camper somewhere where I didn't have totally unrestricted 24 hour access.

Don't they usually have a fork lift or tractor set up with hook ups to move trailers around?

I am sure they have someone with a key and someone that can move trailers.

If they don't, they'll find one :-)

Best regards,
Doug

I believe our fairgrounds has a tractor, but again if the caretaker is ill, they probably aren't going to let you use it and good luck fitting your truck in there.

Thanks for the advice. We finally got a hold of the president of the fairgrounds today. He told us that we could pick up the camper on Saturday at 10:30! I am overjoyed, because this will give me a few days to dewinterize and air out. I will certainly look into 24 hour storage access next winter!
Thank you
