super slide problem

I have an older Jayco 5 wheel with a super slide that doesn't operate very well. I usually have to push it in and out to assist the motor. Any thoughts?

The first two thoughts that come to my mind:
Battery power and something dragging/dirty mechanism.

That's all I got. Sorry. There are others that should be more help than that.

I think they might have 2 different size motors or gear drives that you can purchase for the slide but I could be wrong.

Good suggestions above. A loose wiring connection to the motor could also possibly cause low voltage to it and cause it to lose some power.
If it goes in and out OK with your assistance, sounds like something is causing drag on the system somewhere.

Check ALL your electrical connections, including battery cables. Take them apart, clean with a wire brush and contact cleaner then put them back together tight. While they are apart check the lugs on the ends of the wires to be sure they are secure on the wire with no broken strands of wire visible. After reassembly a good coating of dielectric grease helps to keep corrosion at bay. Old switches can also be a source of power loss due to internal resistance. If a switch gets warm during use change it out. Mechanically speaking, check everything that moves. Be sure everything moves freely and is lubricated per the manufacturers recommendations. If that doesn't cure it then I'd pull the drive motor(s) and either rebuild or replace them. Good luck!
