I’ve seen good reviews for Progressive and Surge Guard. You want one that provides surge, over/under voltage, and warns about reverse polarity and ground faults. I prefer one with a display that can be mounted in the RV.

Progressive Industries EMS-PT50X

Their service is top notch. I had a minor problem with the power cable and they replaced the whole unit 7 days after I filed a claim. It's plugged into my house and runs 24/7 when we are not camping...been working great for the past 3 years.

We have the SouthWire Surge Guard 34951. It's the only one with load side protection, meaning that it will detect faults in the RV as well as at the pedestal. It also comes with lifetime protection insurance so that Southwire will pay for damages to your RV in something gets past it.

We also got the optional bluetooth remote monitor so we can monitor the loads on L1 and L2 from inside the RV. With it, I could finally convince Joan that she can run nearly everything she wants to at once and not blow a breaker

Southwire and Progressive share 90% of the market according to an article at TechnoRV.com

We actually own two of them, with one as a spare so we are never unprotected.

Today is the last day for the TechnoRV Black Friday sale. I bought a SmartPlug from them last Friday at a great price.

X2. I have two PT50X's. One in service and one in a box (I did put the spare in service for a few days once I received it to make sure it was good).
