Surge suppressor (EMS)? Yes! Right after the TPMS.
Average trailer price is what, $30-50k vs $700-800 for quality EMS and TPMS?
Get over it, get on with it and get ‘em both.

We bought one when we purchased our brand new 2018 Northpoint. As someone stated above, the electronics in an RV can be extremely susceptible to changes in voltage. I, myself, am in electronics as a career and believe me, the $300 for a good surge protector is peanuts compared to what can happen if you get an electrical surge in your Rv...Better safe than sorry.

It will still be looking at 50 amps coming in, rather than the 30 amps. So may not offer total protection, I would contact the mfg and ask them. Myself, I would want a system sized to protect my current system.

EMS not a surge protector....both are available but an EMS protects you from multiple potential issues, rather than just surges. There is a big difference.. If you ask for a surge protector that is what you will get...if you ask for an EMS (electrical management system) that is what you want.

I will add to those who are advocating the use of an EMS. You want to go beyond just a "surge protector". But even a surge protector is better than nothing.
A good EMS is another form of protection for your trailer. I would not want to run the risk of having the electronics in my trailer ruined by not having an EMS in place.

I was torn myself. I did a lot of research on the topic. The RV's are using more power than ever. The campgrounds may or may not be able to keep up with demand. What I found more often was people reporting brown out conditions. Running an RV on lower voltage is just as bad as a surge. I went with a Surge Guard EMS portable system. My brother lost his converter camping 3 sites away from me. Surge Guard unit provide equipment protection warranty as well. The article I found was from a maintenance worked for several campgrounds. His opinion was the first thing to get is a EMS system & Water regulator. He sees issues all the time. As mentioned by others, it is cheap insurance. Check out Surge Guard 34931 for 30 amp an d 34951 for 50 amp. Techno RV was helpful with my purchase.

X2 above. Why risk the cost and aggravation. We are staying at a park where owner reported that local utility blew out an entire section of the park a few years ago.

Won't plug in without an EMS or turn on water without a regulator
