Tank Dumping at Home - Adapter Ring

I have a 6 1/2" threaded clean out port on our home sewer line. I can't seem to find an adapter for the sewer hose larger than 4". Any suggestions where to find one or a work around?

I'd stick hose in drain and pull the lever, but that's just me.

+1

I might try to find something heavyish to put on it just to make sure the hose doesn't flop out of the opening while dumping.

ETA: That's assuming you're just dumping a tank and not using it as a "full-hookup" option and leaving the hose attached for any significant period of time.

Buy a second screw in cap and cut a hole in it.

We have a 4 inch clean out that we use. If it is PVC you should be able to find a reducer. We don't use ours full time,, just when we return form a trip and just to be sure it is cleaned out good before we let the unit sit for any length of time in the drive way.

This is exactly what I do. Before leaving the CG, I'll do a dump and flush, once or twice. But the rig is usually sitting level, or even leaning slightly inward because the slide is in, so I don't get a good gravity flush out.

I fill the black tank about 1/2 for the ride home, to let is slosh around. Once we unpack and I'm ready to park the rig in the driveway, I have a 4" clean out at the end of the driveway that I pull up to. With the crown of the road, I get a good lean towards the dump valve with gravity help. I dump and flush like three times, and the tank is clean and empty, ready for the next adventure.

Yeah, it's just to dump when we get back if we've been boondocking. I was thinking there might be some sort of reducer that would thread into the outlet. Seems like nothing more than sticking the hose in and putting something on it so it doesn't flop out, as you say, is the only way.

I might work out something more elaborate to hook up to my daughter's septic tank when we go up there. Her wife's and electrician in the Navy and set us up with a 30 amp outlet in the outbuilding we were parked in front of so we could run the A/C when we went up there last summer for their wedding. Daughter's A/C went out and it was July. When they weren't in the pool everybody wanted to come hang in the trailer because we were the only one's had A/C. We had all the flower arrangements in there as well

one solution

Go to your local plumbing outlet and by a flat 6" clean out plug screw in cap.

Also purchase a 4" clean out.

Cut a suitable sized hole in the 6" cap to accept the 4" clean out and glue it in place with pvc solvent. There you go now you have an adapter.
