Tank gauges

Can anyone tell me if I am in trouble if I wait until it says tank full before I dump?
Thanks

As long as there wasn't "black water" coming out of your roof vent, you should be fine.

The gauges are wildly inaccurate anyway. Mine will read full when only half-full. You can generally tell when tanks are getting full as the toilet starts to burp during the flush, and/or sinks start to gurgle more when draining.

If you using your FW tank, you can also do some mental math based on volumes to figure if you need to dump. My gray tank is bigger than my FW but my black tank is about 6g smaller. I will usually add more water to the FW during a boon dock without dumping, so it is good to keep track. If I don't add any water though, then I am generally good all around.

If you have fresh water, but no sewer you just need to listen carefully, and eventually get a feel for it.

If I had sewer hookup, I would dump black anytime I thought I might be getting even remotely close. (But I've never camped anywhere that had sewer hookup).

When you flush and hear a loud sploosh and a burp, it's time.

The black and kitchen grey tank indicators are wildly undependable. I hardly depend on them at all.
