Tape to Seal up Farbric Under the Floor

I had to make a couple cuts in the tarplike fabric that is under my floor but above the frame. I do not have an enclosed underbelly. What tape would make a good seal? I have duct and tuck tape on hand.

The reason: After winter storage I started flushing all the antifreeze out of the plumbing lines. I noticed a lot of water running across the floor. I shut everything down. Upon inspection I found that the p-trap had become disconnected from the downpipe on the kitchen sink. An easy, no tools required, fix. The reason it became disconnected is that Jayco did not have anything supporting the drains under the sink. All of the plumbing was being held up by the coupler on the p-trap which is a slip fit. I added about 5 cents worth of support strap and two screws to prevent this from happening again.

At the same time I also found that under the sofa and next to the furnace all of the fill lines running to the water tank were not sealed to the floor. There is a 5" diameter hole cut in the floor that is not sealed and is letting in massive amounts of dust. It was half an inch thick under there.

During our PDI four years ago, I noticed the same size hole in our floor for the water fill. Even though there was spray foam between the top of the tank and floor, I had the dealer seal it up. They used a heavy black tape, and although it's ugly, it's in a cabinet, out of sight, and it sealed the hole nicely. I'm sure that black tape was intended for the underside, so it would be OK for your cuts.

Try this heavy duty pipe wrap tape, very sticky and thick
2 in. x 50 ft. 20 Mil Pipe Wrap Tape-53550 - The Home Depot
I've used it for repairing my shop vac hose, holding foam padding on my roof rack and truck racks and various other uses.

Aluminum tape available at most lumber yards & hardware stores. Water proof and sticky and recommended by a local RV repair shop.
