Kelly's & Texas,
Thanks! The topper I'm considering is 3" and I'm afraid the box cutter may leave a "hacked" edge behind. I've seen videos of auto upholstery foam being shaped with the turkey knife so I'm leaning that way.

Metal straight edge, push down where you want to cut, use box cutter.

My wife bought our mattress topper on sale from Shopko for $79 about a month ago. No trimming was needed but we do have a regular queen size mattress too.

I trimmed my memory foam mattress topper with an electric carving knife. It did a great job in no time at all, with very little effort. Also, I followed the advise of a couple of other folks, here, and put the 3" mattress topper under the mattress. I then put a 1" corrugated foam rubber mattress topper on top of the mattress - like a pillow top mattress - and then the standard mattress protector. I want to tell you, this combination has turned out to be the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on! I'd recommend it to anyone!

I used a sharp bread knife. Worked almost too well and no mess.

Anybody use a topper in a hybrid? And if so, where do you store it when folded up? I'm not too happy with the stock mattress in my X23b.

Bought a 14 inch NovaForm mattress for the trailer and cut it down with an electric carving knife. Gave it a perfectly straight edge. Can also use it to slice steak at the campsite!
