theater seating issues

We have a 2018 34RSBS. The theater seating is once again in need of repair. The cable you use to put it into the recliner position is broken. We under warranty till 9/2020. I just do not like waiting to get something fixed. The part is 50.00. Thinking of saying hey I will pay for an upgrade. Has anyone upgraded the seating. Or just replaced it with household furniture ?

Replaced with lazy boys. And glad I did. Not only the reduced cost but the lumbar support was a added blessing.

The original set was bolted down but after 10,000 miles the new recliners didn't move inches from their placement.

Bill, just came across your post. I had the cable problem and was confronted with the 50.00 fix that takes 10 weeks to happen and decided to take matters into my own hands. Went on the auction site and found a three pack of cables for 15.00 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Podoy-D-Rin...53.m1438.l2649

Not a hard DIY at all. Took all of half an hour. Hardest part was discovering the holes in the floor to replace the screws that hold the seat in place. By the way, these cables were better quality and now I have two extras 'just in case' or I run into someone at site that has the same problem.

Thanks Muck, for doing the work for me. Just wish you would have given me step-by-step instructions.

I did not know it was a sectional I took the whole thing out when only one side would have been required.

I have the same issue but cannot figure out how to remove the seats. I want to remove the one that I can open so that I can to the one that is locked in upright position. Can anyone send a picture or describe to me where the screws are to remove????

I got a phillips driver bit on a small ratchet to unscrew the front bracket holding the seat down. Slide the seat forward and tip over and release the lever that the cables is attached to. (take the front bracket off both seats). My seat had a loose screw on the release lever , I tightened and worked great. If cable is broken replace the cable,

Must have the other foot rest up in order to squeeze your hand behind the closed one with the rachet
