Things in your RV that make you say why?

Do you have anything in your rv that makes you say why would they do that? I mean who decides these things and do they even thinks about it first? Two things that bug me in our new Seneca is the TP holder in the rear bathroom....love it just jabbin me in the ribs while I’m sitting there . I just removed it and the roll sets on the counter just like the last 2 RV’s....never had one that was located good. The other is in the front bathroom, why would they mount the towel ring right above the electrical outlet what are yours?

My new trailer, they didn't even mount the tp holder. Sales guy told me everyone complains, so it's up to the buyer now.

Our hand towel hanger is above the light and fan switches. Probably the only stud in the wall strong enough to mount to.

1st thing we moved. TP location is a personal choice. I would rather have had it left on the floor.

Two things -

1) When you have either outside basement door open and any moisture is flowing down from the rain gutter above it splashes right on to the top of the open door's edge splashing you in the face.

2) Chances are excellent that when the door to the command center is open your head will walk straight into the bottom corner of it causing extreme pain and the use of very colorful language begins.

Just a couple that come to mind as I'm trying to wake up for work...

The Control Center door. It would have been just a simple to put a hinge on top so it lifts out of the way. Hey...that will be my next mod!!!

Instead of a pocket door they used an outward swinging door for the bathroom that opens up against the dinette area. You can’t leave the door open because it blocks one half of the seating or opens up into someone. Also the fridge door and bathroom door cannot be open at the same time and if the fridge door is open and someone tries to come out of the bathroom they can’t. A pocket door would have been perfect

I had 2 things but now it's 3
1 -payments
2 -Hanging closet + drawers blocked by bed slide.
Anything in this combination is unreachable until you extract the slide
So don't put your rain coat in there while driving
3 -motorhome entrance door and screen door. For as much as you use them, I find mine a pain in the Arse.
The screen door is just a repair waiting to happen

RV screen doors always seem to be problematic. I have no idea why they can't figure out a simple reliable system, but it's apparently impossible.

Why does mine have what seems like 100 outlets in the trailer but none of them are in the kitchen area?

In addition to what others have said about the command center door, I hate that they placed a PLASTIC heater vent...in the stairs to the bunkroom. A better place would have been on the side of the stairs.

Walls are not deep enough to allow for pocket doors.. That would require 2 X 4 walls...

I agree! Mine are right in the middle of the floor in the living area. As well as one right at my feet as I stand at the bathroom sink. It's like they tried to place them where you'd have to step on them! lol

They run a duct between the floor structure. Unlike a house where they can run ducting under joists or build joists to accept ducting, they can't do that in an RV. You can't cut the steel frame, and you don't have room under the floors. One duct is typically what you have, so every floor register will be inline with that one duct... They don't have options to place floor registers where is esthetically pleasing. it's easy for us to think why did they do that, but if we really think about it, it is placed where they are for logical reasons.

Happy Camping

On our Jay Feather 7 18RBM the hard to swap propane tank, it's secured with 2 bolts and nuts which makes changing out a tank a pain in the backside.

Yeah, I noticed that. They should still make the registers from metal in my opinion. I did end up getting AM registers that are metal.

Understood...but the vent on the stairs would have been inline with the duct if they ran it to the side. In the front compartment I see the foil heater vent line that could have been just as easily placed on the side of the steps. And honestly, not have been in the way as much in that compartment.

Ours has a pocket door between the bathroom wall and the pantry. It depends on configuration.
