This camper is rocking!

I was outside working on the camper this afternoon when it started to rock back and forth pretty good. Just experienced my first earthquake ever. 4.2 magnitude here in Kalamazoo Michigan. Had to change some clothes JK. It was a weird sound and feeling.

Not the good kind of rocking. ;-)

You can have the earthquakes. We are waiting for the big one here in CA. Long overdue for an earthquake. Haven't had any in a while.

When I was stationed in the Philippines I was in the chow hall when one hit. My chair and me went one way and the table went the other.

Wow, 4.2. That's like sitting in the house with an out of balanced washing machine. I guess when you live in an area that doesn't get them frequently it's a weird feeling. We're used to the small ones out here in California until they hit sixes and sevens.

I used to live in Richmond BC and felt the 6.8 qua;e that hit Seattle Washington on 2001. The soil under the house was sand and peat....it amplified the quake. the house was 3 stories about 60 yrs old so it swayed to a point that I actually thought that it would collapse, it was that violent....I went outside and saw my truck moving back and forth in the driveway. It cracked 3 walls in one of my bedrooms adn found more damage 2 years later to a main drain that ran thru the foundation. I know that our area is overdue for that big one that they say could be 9.0.....i now owna house on high ground that is solid clay under us...I hope that I never have to experience a quake like that one again. I actually thought it was the big one...Seattle took a pretty heavy hit.

Who'd have thought there would be an earthquake in Michigan? Maybe you'll have to quake insurance now.

I was so bummed that I missed it. I was at the daughters bowling match and the son in law texted and said our whole house shook.

Quakes in the east are much different feelings than in the west coast. Just sayin. Much different soil and bedrock formations.
