I tow the 22FB (26'/4600's) with a 2008 Tundra Double Cab with the 4.7 motor. The Tundra does a great job except for the 8 - 10 mpg and the small gas tank.

I have 130K miles on the Tundra without any issues, just normal maintenance. Couldn't say that about my Ford.

We have an '07 Tundra double cab 4wd with the 5.7L. We tow a 2015 26RKS. It gets 10 mpg while towing.

2010 Tundra CrewMax with 5.7L. We have a 2015 Whitehawk 33BHBS. Max weight on TT is 8500lbs. Truck has a 10,100 tow rating. We get about 8-10mpg until we hit a steep hill then it drop to 4mpg. Lol. No issues towing so far. Just tight getting into gas stations, but that's another thread.

I tow a 2015 Jayco, 23 RB with a 5.7L, long bed Tundra without any difficulty. Experiences: More than sufficient power for all kinds of road terrain but I have found it is very prudent to know how far the next truck stop is so I can get gas. I'm averaging 8.5 MPG but the ride in a four door cab more than makes up for the aggravating low gas mileage and a small fuel tank.

I tow a 2013 29QBH with my 08 Tundra double cab, with the 5.7. Gets crap gas mileage, but pulls/stops it with no problem.

I just towed our eagle 27.5 ht for the first time with a 2014 5.7 with tow package. Added air ride 5000 on back, tow mirrors , p3 brake control and 10 ply nitto dura grappler tires. Only towed about 40 miles total. Not sure about gas mileage but I'm not going to go over 60 or so. Worked great in my novice opinion. Air ride was nice add.

Thank you for all the responses. We have decided to upgrade to a Whitehawk 28bhks and will pick it up next weekend. Looking forward to many trips with it and the Tundra.

We had a 2006 4.7L Tundra (crew cab 2WD) and towed a 24ft fifth wheel (Skyline Nomad). GVWR of the trailer was 8400lb. Trailer set up for travel was right around 7000lb. Towing rating for the truck was 7000lb.

I had to add airbags to it even though my pin weight was within the truck's margins.

The engine of the truck did very well, but, at close to 100k miles (30k towing) the transmission was showing signs of distress from being at or over GCWR of the vehicle. Our towing was all over the country but a lot was out here in the western mountains.

I agree they are great trucks, just stay within the truck's specs. The most comfortable truck I have ever ridden in.

I pull a 2012 Sunset Trail 31BH TT with a 2007 5.7L CC Tundra. As others have mentioned, mileage is poor but expected. Plenty of power. Looking to upgrade both truck and trailer to a 5er. Love that tundra - best 1/2T I've ever owned. Wish they'd make a diesel 3/4 or 1T!

I previously towed a SOB 30' bunk house TT with an '07 Tundra Crewmax 5.7 2wd. The trailer was about 6800 loaded. The engine with the rear end ratio pulled it quite well. The big brakes stopped quite well also. Two negatives were the 26 gal fuel tank, and suspension. Even with Timbrens, LT tires and a well set up WDH, it didn't feel good to me when the wind kicked up. I was a hair over max payload too with only 1300lbs to work with. It only had 50K miles on it, but being a 9 year old truck at the time, the suspension may passed it's prime years.

Towing slx 287 bhsw with 2016 crewmax, had axels swapped for 6000 lb dexters, to increase the trailer payload, I am about 9000 lb fully loaded, have Timbrens and E-rated Michelins, the truck has 38gal fuel tank, doing around 300 miles towing on full tank , truck pulls fine with no problems, have been all over the east coast , from NH to Florida keys , usually keep the speed around 65mph, have two other trailers , dump trailer with 12000 gvwr and cargo with 7000gvwr, cargo is fully loaded and towed with the Tundra on daily basis, the best tow truck I've ever owned, had 2013 4.6 crewmax with towing package and 26gal tank before, towed same trailer with it, only problem was small fuel tank

Jayco 27RLS & Tundra

We pull our 2015 Jayco 27RLS (6,873 dry wt.) with a 2016 Tundra 5.7 Crew Max rated at a 10,100 tow capacity. The Tundra came with factory tow package; I added a set of AirLift 5000 bags (took about 2 hours to install). To date I have not had any problem pulling our TT. When loaded we are weighing about 7,400 lbs on the trailer and 750 lbs on the hitch tongue (truck rated for 1,000 lbs tongue weight). Our trips have been in the Southeast with few steep slopes. Getting about 13 mpg; easily can run 65-70 at 2500rpm or lower - when necessary we can hit 80, but don't like pulling at those speeds. We use an Equalizer 1200 hitch system rated to 12,000 lbs/1,200 lbs tongue wt. Running about 25 - 30 psi in the bags and the entire set-up gives us a smooth ride on bad Interstates and very little sway. Just finished a 2,000 mile trip around Arkansas and Tennessee and were very satisfied. We love Toyotas and Jaycos; bought the truck to step up from a Tacoma, then decided to buy a new TT so we went with the 27RLS because its specs match the Tundra. Considering a mountain west trip next year; any recommendations or information welcome when it comes to similar experience with a Tundra pulling similar loads. Seems most related conversations say the TV/TT combination should not be a problem.

Hope this helps....

I have a 2016 Tundra 5.7L max tow and max payload.
We pull a 2017 24RBS
Just did 2,000 miles. Plenty of power and tows well up to 65mph.
Trailer is loaded at about 6500 lbs.
This seems to be a good match for easy towing.
I love the 38gal gas tank.
I get about 12.1 mpg and can run about 410 miles.

We pull a little 19RD with our 2010 TRD CC, 5.7. It's happy place is between 60-65 MPH. We love the dependability. It's our second Tundra, so far.
