Tiffin Layoffs

Tiffin Layoffs - ~25%

Sign of the times; I'm surprised we haven't heard much about other makes cutting staff.

This post is just about a week old, but posting it as I didn't see anything on the JOF about it (unless I missed it). I wonder who else is dropping staff?

As I understand it, this might help from a quality perspective as I've read countless times how the less qualified workers are the first to go.

The RV market is definitely shifting and as the economy sinks deeper into the abyss many other markets will be following. Soon many will find themselves in a pretty tough spot financially. Especially those who bought new trucks, cars and RV's and paid ridiculous amounts over list / sticker. As sales slow way down more layoffs will be announced.

My financial planner called me last week... He has been trying to keep my retirement nest-egg from becoming a new chapter of the children's rhyme "Humpty Dumpty".

He then emailed me this Youtube and said that the economy is going in another direction than I wanted it to... then he sent me this!

This happened years ago with the motorcycle craze. Motorcycle shows galore on TV, and Harley-Davidson was pumping out bikes like there was no tomorrow. After about 4 years, the motorcycle craze came to an abrupt halt.

Now the RV craze is experiencing the same thing, most likely due to the pandemic/covid slowing up.

What's next?

I would hope build quality improves after this correction. My 2015 Greyhawk was significantly better than my 2019. If I get back into the hobby somewhere down the line I'd hope the cash outlay better aligns w/ the quality of the item.
