Hey Chuck, I too have had some false alarms. I called and talked with a person (name has escaped) who felt that a signal booster would help. Apparently they now all come with one. Anyway, I installed one recently and will see if it improves things on next week's trip. And yes, outstanding customer service.

We purchased our TST system about 5 years ago. We were impressed with it right off the bat but what sold us on having the right system was when we pulled in to a Verizon parking lot and the alarm went off reading 165!!! {The TST monitors Temperature & Pressure at the same time}. A quick check showed nothing wrong with the tire but after investigation, Dutch found a stuck brake caliper. It cause so much heat to build up it set off the alarm. We would never have know about this without our TST. So did we lose a caliper? Yep and fortunately Dutch carries a spare but the alarm sounding saved us from losing a rotor, tire and possible fiberglass damage. So yes, peace of mind for sure. Hugs, Di

Thanks Redhorse, I will contact them and check it out. The false alarms happen not all that often but they are an aggregation and you never now what could happen. My toad is only about 37 feet from the monitor so I didn't think I would need one, but like I said, I will check it out.

Finally got a chance to install the TST 507 with flow-through. I have not made a trip yet, but all seems to be working. When I screwed the sending unit on the spare valve stem, it alarm went off. Seems I only had 45 lb in the spare. I'm looking forward to my first trip to see how it goes.

We had an outing this weekend with the new signal booster and while our trip was only 540 mi I can say that there were no false alarms (and no real ones either). It looks like the booster may have helped out.
They retail for about $70 I think but since I registered my original purchase (w/o booster) they sold me the booster for $30.
We also have rubber stems.

Just returned from a weekend trip. The TST 507 seemed to work as expected I guess...How do I know if it is not working???? I compared the pressure using a gage and the TST 507 was dead on. One thing I noticed. The temp of the tires on the driver's side showed a few degrees hotter than on the passenger side. Then it came to me. As the two slides are on the driver's side the driver side tires are carrying more weight.

I have the TST 507 with 8 sensors. I absolutely love it and traveling is so much more relaxed now that I'm not constantly looking in the mirrors expecting to see rubber pieces flying everywhere. I look back now to see who is gaining on me which is everyone since I don't tow fast. I'm retired, I'll get there.

The side running in the shade can run a few degrees cooler also.

+1, sunny side vs shady side accounts for a couple lbs even in my TV...

Our TST system just saved us today, we were going through Phoenix AZ, warning when off, low pressure on left rear trailer tire, air pressure was down from 110 Psi to 80 Psi, tire was loosing air.
Stopped and took care of problem with no blowout or damage.

Just got my TST 507 flow thru system and thinking of setting my high pressure at 100 psi, low pressure at 65 psi and high temp at 110 F. The default temp is set at 158 F. but I think the Tow max tires would be long gone before they got that hot. My tires are at 80 psi cold. Any thoughts from people using this system.

Driving in hot weather, I find that my tires often get to 110 deg. I think you will get more false alarms than you want.
JMO. I used the Michelin default.
The pressure alarm will let you know cause low pressure will come in before the temp alarm in my experience.
Nothing is cast in stone, you can set it to meet your needs and experience.
When that alarm goes off, every one is interested.

Thanks for sharing your experiences and this is something I would definitely like to add. Experience years ago with one tire on 5ver that went flat and got jammed into the remaining tandem tire was not alot of fun to wrestle with at the side of a highway with a non-existant shoulder and traffic passing too close for comfort. Morning pressure check of all tires and noon time visual inspection a couple of hours before the flat did not prevent this, whereas as the TST may have given me the opportunity to get off the highway somewhere more convenient.

I just checked Tweety`s site and there is not a listing for TST 507 non flow-through. I think this may now be listed as the TST 510 ? For those interested, there is now a short video on the installation of the sensor units and linking with the monitor. The flow throughs require removal of rim and tire for internal installation whereas the non-flow through simply screw on the valve stem. I am leaning towards the non flow through as I would be able to remove them during winter storage (imo unnecessary cold weather exposure shortens the life of most batteries) and they are easily replaceable if one of the sensors dies prematurely. Other than theft prevention, are there any other advantages to the flow throughs ? The rest of the hardware appears the same. I am also unclear whether the booster is installed in the TV or the trailer and is it hardwired into the 12v system ? Thanks for your help.

Just ordered the 507RV Flow Throughs today. Can't wait to get these installed and the peace of mind that will come with knowing what is going on behind me.

Now...where to find the 45 Degree Valve Stems for my wee 13" wheels on the X20E. Any Ideas @OttawaSteve?

Thanks again to all the contributors in this thread, really helped me to narrow down what to go with, mostly based on reputation and reliability.
