To Cover or Not to Cover

Live in El Paso Texas where it rarely snows and rarely gets below 32 degrees for any extended time during the winter months.

Typical winter day has a low in the low 40s/upper 30s and a high in the upper 50s low 60s.

So, should I cover my rv for the winter or not?

I would think you would want to cover it more for the sun than for snow. Regardless, you can't go wrong covering it either way. Two schools of thought....cover it with a cheap cover and plan on replacing it every 2 years or so, or buy an expensive cover and take care of it. Or...you could buy a metal RV cover and be good for a very long time.

We rarely get snow in NC, but we do get a lot of sun. I bought the Classic Accessories OverDrive PolyPRO 3 Deluxe primarily for peace of mind. Do I need a cover? Who knows. It makes me feel good.hehehe.
This is not the cheapest nor the most expensive, but it works for me.

Our Jayco stays in Az so we don't coved it. We have a smaller Sunny Brook trailer in N. Idaho and we were covering it. It has a luggage rack on the upper rear roof area and the cover was trapping a lot of water and I didn't like all that weight sitting on the roof for months so starting this year it is uncovered.

While researching those "plastic" awning covers, I discovered the attached information about full RV fabric covers. The first q&a discusses the heat build-up under an RV cover that I found interesting. Especially if you live in warmer climates.
