To cover or not to cover...

Hello all, glad to find this forum. We just bought a used WhiteHawk 28 bunkhouse in excellent condition. I need to store it outside, at least this winter, here in Michigan- snow! We will be modifying our barn for next winter, but this year it will sit out in the elements. We are new to the TT scene, should we cover it or no? I see a lot just sitting out- seems risky.

What say the experts?

I had 2 5ers before our Northpoint. Didnt cover either one on them. The Northpoint is WAY more than our other two put together. We cover ours in the winter. It gets washed and hand waxed before the cover goes on at the end of the season. Come spring it's as clean as when we put it away. Since we cant use it for 4-6 months, no sense in it sitting out in the elements, especially the sun trying to fade it.

Thanks for the feedback- what brand are you all using? I think the local General RV store carries Classic Accessories Perma Pro - I see higher rated on Amazon...

I vote cover. I clean and wax in the fall and cover the RV. When I uncover in the spring I'm greeted by an RV that is pristine clean and ready to roll rather than one with six months accumulated dirt, leaves, bird droppings and other stuff that needs to be scrubbed from the roof and side walls. I've spent $250 on a cover that usually lasts 4 off seasons. For me the $60/year is well worth the expense.

Like they mentioned above. Brought my cover in the fall of 2015 shortly after purchasing the trailer.

Before I put it away in November here in Pennsylvania, I wash and wax it. I then put 303 on the tires and cover the trailer and tires. My trailer still looks like the day I brought it 5 years later.

I cover mine with a ADCO all weather designer series RV cover. It has wind vents. My trailer is 8 yrs old now and still looks new.
