To tow or not to tow

Any opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of towing a dinghy? I don't go off grid and plan only to stay in popular tourist areas.
The wife uses a powered wheel chair, so any toad would require room for that.
It's looking to me like the cost of the vehicles we've looked at and towing set up will run somewhere around $25k - $30k. That would equal a lot of rentals. Probably only rent 2-3 times a year.
Are car rentals fairly common around places like Yellowstone? Any suggestions would be welcome

When we had the MH, I always liked having the dinghy. Comes in real handy especially if you have a breakdown on the road. We always travel with our dogs so if you need to take them some rental companies don't allow it. You could save some money by going with a tow dolly instead of towing all 4 wheels down. I prefer the 4 wheels down style, but it is much more expensive.
