Toad Load Effect on MPG

After enough miles with and without towing our 2017 Ford Fusion Hybrid I can say that the additional load of pulling the toad does not make any significant difference to MPG. Overall our 2019 Jayco Greyhawk 3 gets 8.2 MPG average with or without the toad.

I agree. I tow a Hyundai Santa Fe (almost 5000#) behind my 34G. Maybe lose a half MPG. Canít really tell. We went along time without towing a car and now that I bought a dolly we really like having a car.

With a MH wind resistance and speed is a larger factor than additional weight. What you've seen is the same as what we experienced with our 01 and 08. Very little change with a toad, more decrease as we drove faster, that's why I always cruised between 62-65.

+1. This mirrors my experience.

I never noticed a difference towing the Jeep or with the toy hauler and loaded or unloaded.
