Toilet Flap Stuck

Was in for repair for a few weeks and when it came out the flap at the bottom is stuck. Do I force it? Is there something I can put on it?

The flush mechanism sounds like it's stuck or broken. If it was mine, I's remove the toilet and check the pedal mechanism. That may be easier than working on it in a constricted space. Removal is quite easy. You might find it needs a replacement part or two.

That's what I did with mine when I replaced the seals to keep the bowl from leaking. I had found putting it on the kitchen table gave me plenty of room and good light to see what I was doing....

Sticking toilet valve

Had an older 5er, it's toilet's knife valve would stick whenever it dried out. It always came loose with some water and persuading though.

Once it's loose, if it's not a mechanical issue, maybe some silicone grease or 303 protectant will help.

If the flap is stuck SHUT, just put water on top, gently push DOWN, and it will be free; store w/ water or antifreeze above to prevent sticking. If stuck OPEN, they are designed to do that, (so that you can clear clogs without damaging flapper/ seal), just gently pull finger lever or foot pedal toward closed position.

there is toilet valve lubricant to use while in storage so this doesn't happen again. When storing, I add a couple tablespoons, excercise the valve without water on then add some more afterwards to sit on top of the seal.

Thanks for all the replies. I will attempt to open the stuck valve first with some water on top for a little while and if no success I'll remove the toilet and work on it Thanks so much
